Innovation and
Challenge
The group-wide common values treasured by ARE Holdings
are presented in the “Asahi Way”. Our employees have
overcome any difficulties they faced by firmly keeping the
corporate spirit in mind. This “Innovation and Challenge”
will continue to spread in the group as the keyword for its
growth.
AMERICAS×ASIA
In March 2015, Asahi Refining was incorporated into the
group, and our company acquired gold and silver refining
business in North America. With aligning the directionality
with the two group companies that expanded business in Asia ( ASAHI G&S, Asahi Pretec Korea), we will extend the
recycling business
developed in Japan to date to a much more global market.
Gold and Silver
ASAHI METALFINE carries out precious metal recycling
in Japan, and is a full-fledged member of the Japan Gold
Metal Association. Its gold, silver, platinum and palladium
metals are recognized as brand products for delivery on the
Tokyo Commodity Exchange. In addition, its products are
highly regarded in the global market for their reliable quality, with its gold and silver certified by the London Bullion
Market Association (LBMA), and its platinum and palladium
certified by the London Platinum and Palladium Market (LPPM) as Good Delivery bars. Gold and silver metals of Asahi
Refining are also certified by LBMA as good delivery bars.
Throughout Japan
Japan Waste is certified as an industrial waste management
company in all prefectures.
We have a system in place to promptly respond to diverse
customer needs and process them appropriately and promptly.
Diversity and Support
for work-life balance
For our employees, equal opportunities and chances are
ensured between genders.
Also, our company has adopted systems like those shown
below for our employees to take versatile and flexible work
forms, including comfortably working while raising children.
Our employees can select a work style that is the most
suitable for their work-life balance.

・Extension of the term of short-time work after childcare
leave up to children's completion of the 3rd grade - around
10 years old (until 3 years old by the law)
・Realization of flexible work forms by introducing the
variable working hour system

1952 and 2009
In 1952, the company was founded as “Asahi Chemical
Laboratory” for the business of recycling silver from
photographic effluent. Then, the recovery and recycling
business was expanded to dental, jewelry, and electronics
fields. The company name was changed to “Asahi Pretec
Corp.” in 1998, and we have since developed our core
business, precious metal recycling business and
environmental preservation business.
In 2009 we established a pure holding company “Asahi
Holdings, Inc. (now ARE Holdings, Inc.)“ with Asahi Pretec
Corp. and Japan Waste Corp. playing the core role, and the
group promoted its further growth based on the 2 mainstay
businesses; the Precious Metal Business, and the
Environmental Preservation Business.
* In fiscal 2015, the gold and silver refining business in
North America joined the group, and the former Precious
Metal Recycling Business segment was renamed to the
Precious Metal Business segment.
Earthquakes and
Recovery
Our company faced difficulties in the form of two major
earthquakes, namely, the Great Hanshin Awaji Earthquake
that occurred on 1995 and the Great East Japan Earthquake
that occurred on 2011.
In the Great Hanshin Awaji Earthquake, the Kobe office which
was the largest base of our sales and production with head
office functions suffered serious damage. However, we built a
collaboration system among bases, and achieved all the initial
sales goals even after the disaster.
In the Great East Japan Earthquake, our employees voluntarily
drove trucks to deliver supplies to disaster-stricken bases
and carried out inspection of equipment. Thanks to these acts
and other actions taken thereafter like shift work and
staggered working hours, our company managed to meet all
the delivery deadlines.
Cherishing the “Trust and Bonds” in the Asahi Way, the whole
group worked on the reconstruction and revitalization as one,
and have overcome those two difficulties.
